My introduction to Jianshu Cheng occurred in early May of 2013. Severe pain in my lower back and hip made it difficult to walk or sleep. Two cortisone shots and physical therapy had been unsuccessful. Persistent pain continued and I wanted to avoid further cortisone treatments. A friend suggested I see Jianshu.
I had many questions regarding acupuncture. Is it effective? Does it hurt? What kind of training does an acupuncturist have? Who is Jianshu Cheng? I did research before my first appointment. Although I still had questions, I went anyway.
I am now walking, sleeping, and participating fully in life without pain. Jianshu is an incredibly insightful, skillful, humble, dedicated health care professional, and a wonderful human being. His singular goal is your healing. He begins the treatment session by listening intently to what you say and to what your body is saying. He focuses on the particular pain or problem that brought you to him. Jianshu respects and recognizes that you are a whole person and offers suggestions that help you become an active part of the total healing process. He does not over-promise or otherwise “hype” the benefits of acupuncture. Instead, he conveys a quiet confidence that inspires confidence for your own recovery. He has a winsome sense of humor and has become a friend as well as a trusted health care professional. — Bill H., October 2013
“I was a “hot mess” when I called Jianshu Cheng. He was recommended by a naturopath at Kaiser who was a former student of Jianshu. He said Jianshu was an expert in helping people with Candida. I had all the symptoms plus a handful more which included daily wicked migraines, and brain fog so bad I needed help paying my monthly bills. My blood tests were all normal but I couldn’t function. I had been dismissed by seven doctors/practitioners that said I was healthy, sleep deprived, psychotic, or untreatable. Two naturopaths said they could no longer treat me because of allergic reactions to suggested remedies. Jianshu cut my headaches and symptoms in half during the first two months of weekly treatments. This gave me back my life! He taught me how to bring my body back to health and balance through diet, exercise, and acupuncture. Every month I noticed my symptoms melting away. Now after a year of treatments I see him about once a month to help me tweak some persistent annoying symptoms for hypoglycemia. He listens and questions. I never felt rushed through an appointment. He is caring, patient, knowledgeable, and fun! He answers all of my questions honestly. I am grateful for all that he has given me. –Susan N.
Jianshu is a superb herbalist — this is what I always tell people about him. My family have been patients of his for well over 10 years. Our son had many allergies when he was young with digestive and breathing issues. We worked with Jianshu over time using herbal medicine to help manage our son’s conditions. Our son is now a healthy teenager. I have personally been treated by Jianshu for bronchitis, among other things, all with good results. Jianshu is professional, friendly and knows his medicine. I always recommend Jianshu to people I meet who need help. –Dallas C.
Dr. Jian Shu Cheng is a wonderful and precise physician. I first met him while I was working for the Chinese Medicine School in Denver, Colorado in the 1990’s. He was a professor, teaching all aspects of Chinese Medicine. He had arrived straight from China. As his patient, he was careful to listen to me and what was important to me for my health concerns. Jianshu treated me for pain due to prior injuries, also for obesity problems with great results. I continually recommend him to all my friends and family who live in Colorado. I am proud to know him. –Jane R.
“Jianshu Cheng’s acupuncture practice, expertise, knowledge, skill, and personal concern are excellent. I have consulted him on specific issues, as well as general health and well-being. I had one particular health issue that was severe and painful, for which I consulted various doctors and specialists. Surgery was recommended as one of my only options. But after receiving treatments from Jianshu, my symptoms drastically improved, and the issue was resolved without surgery. I have recommended him to family and friends because of the effectiveness of his work. –Justin F. 2008

“When blood cancer and other related issues kicked me in the teeth, I started on a path of discovery which resulted in a plan for wellness and quality of life that combines Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine, nutrition and exercise, meditation and healing visualizations, acupuncture, qigong and energy exercises. Jianshu Cheng has been a key person on my medical team. He’s not only an excellent acupuncturist, but has a depth of medical training and knowledge that he brings to each issue that confronts me. “I have had acupuncture by a variety of acupuncturists, in the US as well as other cultures. Acupuncture is a Healing Art, but every practitioner is not an artist, Jianshu most certainly is. It does not matter what the issue might be, known or unknown, he has helped me profoundly, reaching and maintain a greater balance, both physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Acupuncture by Jianshu Cheng is one of the absolute greatest connections I have made for my optimum well being! — Sofie R.

Jianshu is one of the best acupuncturists and Chinese herbalists in Denver. I was a student at Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine when I first met Dr. Cheng, who was a member of the senior faculty there. I knew instantly that I had met a Master and volunteered to work in his office to learn from him. His patients adore him not only because he helps them feel better but also because of his caring and compassionate personality.” –Kim F., L.Ac.
